Comic-Con 2010 Convention Floor

Welcome to the first advancescreenings.com post from Comic-Con 2010. Wednesday is preview night and I had no idea what that meant. This is my first Comic-Con so I’m really excited to see what everything is about. As I entered the convention floor, I was overwhelmed. This thing is massive! Basically, Comic-Con is an international convention of all things comics…from the history of comic books to the new media that the industry is seeking into including movies, television, and video games.

Preview night is for those eager beavers who show up a day early to check out the booths across the convention floor. It’s supposedly a smaller crowd and there are a couple of exclusives that people line up for. I’m amazed at the lines here at Comic-Con…they’re endless. They wrap around booths so you have no idea where they begin or end and in most cases, have no idea what people are even in line for. Amazingly, the people are quite civilized and there isn’t much pushing and shoving which you would expect. People don’t cut, find the end of the line, and if it’s capped…it’s capped and that’s it. I was impressed with that.

Toy Story 3...in legos!

But let’s remember what I’m actually here for…the movie news! This was just preview night, the press conferences and panels start tomorrow. We’re beginning with the movie I’m most excited about this year now that Inception has been released: Disney’s TRON: Legacy. I’ll keep you all posted and remember you can follow me on twitter @matthewfong for the latest updates!
