See an advance screening of Disney’s Tangled!

Tuesday, November 2nd, 2010

TangledWant to see an advance screening of Disney Animation’s new film Tangled? Then head over to http://adisney.go.com/disneypictures/tangled/rsvp/ and RSVP for a pass before they run out. Trust me, they will go super fast.

Is your city already full or not listed? Check out our advance screening list for Tangled to find other ways to get tickets!

How about a prize pack including t-shirts!? Klout is teaming up with Walt Disney Pictures to reward “influencers” with perks from the movie. You can sign up at http://klout.com/perks/tangled. Basically, they measure what you say on Twitter and Facebook to see if you can get other people to see the movie. So if you talk about Tangled a bunch of social media sites, you might get some free schwag in the mail! …or even a pass to an advance screening in one of these cities: Los Angeles, New York City, Washington D.C., Chicago, San Francisco, Houston, Austin, or Philadelphia.

Walt Disney Pictures presents “Tangled,” one of the most hilarious, hair-raising tales ever told. When the kingdom’s most wanted-and most charming-bandit Flynn Rider (voice of Zachary Levi) hides out in a mysterious tower, he’s taken hostage by Rapunzel (voice of Mandy Moore), a beautiful and feisty tower-bound teen with 70 feet of magical, golden hair. Flynn’s curious captor, who’s looking for her ticket out of the tower where she’s been locked away for years, strikes a deal with the handsome thief and the unlikely duo sets off on an action-packed escapade, complete with a super-cop horse, an over-protective chameleon and a gruff gang of pub thugs. In theaters this holiday season in Disney Digital 3D(TM), “Tangled” is a story of adventure, heart, humor and hair-lots of hair. — (C) Disney

Did you demand a Paranormal Activity screening in your city!? Now get your pass to see it!

Monday, October 18th, 2010

Paranormal Activity 2Just like last year, Paranormal Activity had fans demand the movie in their cities! Unlike last year, it didn’t have quite the marketing budget so this time it was just a marketing ploy rather than actually getting the movie made and shipped to your city (it is releasing nationwide and even in IMAX). I’m not sure if the screening will be in the IMAX but it is located in many theaters that have IMAX screens! Anyway, they are giving away passes to midnight screenings on this Wednesday, October 20th in the top cities.

The top cities who earned the right to have an advance sneak preview of PARANORMAL ACTIVITY 2 include: Los Angeles, CA (Arclight Hollywood); New York, NY (AMC 34th St.); Chicago, IL (AMC East River); Dallas, TX (AMC Northpark); Houston, TX (Regal Grand Palace Greenway); Phoenix, AZ (Harkins Tempe Marketplace); San Diego, CA (AMC Mission Valley); Miami , FL (AMC Aventura); Philadelphia, PA (Regal Riverview); Atlanta, GA (Regal Atlantic Station); San Francisco, CA (AMC Metreon); Boston, MA (AMC Boston Common); San Antonio, TX (Santikos Palladium); Detroit, MI (MJR Marketplace); Las Vegas, NV (Rave Town Square); Seattle, WA (Landmark Neptune); Orlando, FL (AMC Universal); Denver, CO (Regal Continental); Austin, TX (Alamo South Lamar); and Toronto, ON (AMC Yonge & Dundas).

To get your passes go to our Paranormal Activity 2 advance screening list!

Demand Paranormal Activity 2 Screenings!

Tuesday, September 21st, 2010

Paranormal Activity 2Believe it or not, the sequel to Paranormal Activity comes out October 22nd this year. Just like last time, the studio is having you demand the movie in your city. If your city wins, you’ll be able to get screenings before anybody else! I remember going to a midnight screening last year and it was awesome! People were literally jumping out their seats like in the trailer.

You can go to the movie’s official website at www.paranormalmovie.com or straight to Eventful’s Paranormal Activity page to demand your city. Right now, Los Angeles, New York City, Chicago, Dallas, and Houston are the top 5 and it’ll probably stay that way unless you start getting your friends to demand your city! Good Luck!

Here’s the teaser trailer:

Pay What You Want For a Screening of Freakonomics

Thursday, September 16th, 2010

FreakonomicsMagnolia Pictures and the Green Film Company announced today a unique screening program in ten cities across the country that will allow filmgoers to choose how much they want to pay for an advance look at Freakonomics: The Movie. The highly anticipated film version of the internationally bestselling book by Stephen Dubner and Steven Levitt hits theaters nationwide on October 1st. These pay-what-you-want screenings offer fans a chance to see the film on Wednesday, September 22nd, over a week before its official opening, at Landmark Theatres in New York, Los Angeles, San Francisco, Washington, DC, Chicago, Boston, Dallas, Philadelphia, Denver and Seattle.

Tickets for the screenings are now available, and are being exclusively sold online through MovieTickets.com. Filmgoers can choose how much they wish to pay—anywhere in the range of $.01 to $100, with the completion of a short questionnaire. The survey, which after completion gives access to the ticket buying page on MovieTickets.com, is accessible here:

http://www.magpictures.com/freakonomics/freaksurvey.html

The data collected anonymously at the time of purchase will be analyzed by authors Dubner and Levitt to identify what factors and circumstances prompt movie-goers to pay more or less for their screening tickets.

In the spirit of the creative, incentives-based thinking behind Freakonomics, the pay-what-you-want screenings reference a popular experiment from the original book, in which authors Levitt and Dubner analyze how people interact with a weekly, pay-what-you-want bagel delivery service.

“The pay-what-you-want screening represents a fun and engaging way to illustrate the underlying premise of Freakonomics—the application of economics and incentives-based thinking to everyday situations to uncover surprising and sometimes controversial conclusions,” muses producer Chad Troutwine. “It seems only fitting, then, to engage Freakonomics audiences in their own local economic experiment, offering a chance to see the film in advance of its theatrical release while simultaneously bringing the concept of incentives thinking to life.”

Produced by Green Film Company and distributed by Magnolia Pictures, Freakonomics examines human behavior with provocative and often hilarious case studies brought to life by a dream team of Academy Award® and Sundance Film Festival winning directors. Rachel Grady and Heidi Ewing (Jesus Camp) balance levity and candor with their eye-opening profile of underachieving kids incentivized to learn with cold hard cash. Alex Gibney (Enron: The Smartest Guys in the Room) delivers a visually arresting look at the crumbling facade of Sumo wrestling. Morgan Spurlock (Super Size Me) offers up a buoyant and revealing angle on the repercussions of baby names. Finally, Eugene Jarecki (Why We Fight) investigates an unsettling theory to explain why crime rates dramatically dropped in the early 1990s. Seth Gordon (The King of Kong) weaves the segments together with brisk interludes, providing context and commentary from authors Dubner and Levitt.

Space at the pay-what-you-want screenings are limited, and tickets available on a first come, first served basis. In addition to opening theatrically nationwide on October 1st, Freakonomics is also available for rent at a premium advance price on iTunes (www.iTunes.com/freakonomics), Amazon, and On Demand through major cable providers everywhere.

Synopsis: Juli Baker devoutly believes in three things: the sanctity of trees (especially her beloved sycamore), the wholesomeness of the eggs she collects from her backyard flock of chickens, and that someday she will kiss Bryce Loski. Ever since she saw Bryce’s baby blues back in second grade, Juli has been smitten. Unfortunately, Bryce has never felt the same. Frankly, he thinks Juli Baker is a little weird–after all, what kind of freak raises chickens and sits in trees for fun? Then, in eighth grade, everything changes. Bryce begins to see that Juli’s unusual interests and pride in her family are, well, kind of cool. And Juli starts to think that maybe Bryce’s brilliant blue eyes are as empty as the rest of Bryce seems to be. After all, what kind of jerk doesn’t care about other people’s feelings about chickens and trees? With Flipped, mystery author Wendelin Van Draanen has taken a break from her Sammy Keyes series, and the result is flipping fantastic. Bryce and Juli’s rants and raves about each other ring so true that teen readers will quickly identify with at least one of these hilarious feuding egos, if not both. A perfect introduction to the adolescent war between the sexes.
