Afghanistan, Spring 2002. Forced to marry a 65-year-old man, 15-year-old Zarina fled her country for Montreal. But her freedom comes at a price: her daughter will one day have to marry her cousin who has remained in Kabul. Fifteen years later, the pact has resurfaced.
