With its intense and imperfect heroines, THE FURIES is the first Quebec sports comedy to be made by women. Waterloo will now have its semi-pro men's hockey team, expelling amateur women's leagues from the arena. To avenge their lost ice time, an impulsive hockey player and a ruthless octogenarian a former derby champion have a plan: recruit the city's outcasts and set up an underground roller derby team. With the complicity of the Cercle de fermières, they proved that women's sport could also stir up crowds and that sisterhood was the ultimate act of resistance.
